Run, don't walk, to watch Firefly.
Still trying to figure out if I like it or will eternally blame the people who passed it to Role Playing Public Radio, discovered in an older episode while doing other things on the PC. Apparently there's an anime series of sorts called Nyarko-San which from what little I've seen of it, anime + Lovecraft and/or/maybe the CoC game elements. Still watching it now but others might find it entertaining if they have a tolerance of anime, so far only glimpses of Lovecraft mythos in there at the start but looks like I'm hooked to see more.

While surfing the interwebs I found a episode of The Real Ghostbusters that actually has them face off against Cthulhu. I can't believe I never caught this episode. Link is for youtube

Last night I was able to watch the pilot episode of the new Flash show on CW. It was utterly amazing!!! Very well done. No cheese factor at all. None at all!!
They did some cool special effects, similar to what you see on an episode of CSI, to demonstrate Barry's absolute mastery of crime scene analysis. And once he got the powers, awesome effects for his speed. The actors were all outstanding, and it felt grounded in a real world that is suddenly experiencing extraordinary events.
I freaking loved it. Set your DVRs. Watch this show. Haters are gonna hate, but I think a vast majority of folks will enjoy it as much as I do.

Planning a Walking Dead catch-up marathon this weekend, as my regular TV partner, who does not appreciate splatters of red Karo syrup and latex guts as much as I, is out of town for the 4th.
I dig it, but I do wish I could start True Detective instead, though. Not sure if she'll follow me down that road of weirdness.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend. Mine was terrible.
Friday the 4th was great, but at 2am on Saturday the 5th I got incredibly sick. I had contracted a bacterial infection on my left leg, a celluitus skin infection. I suffered all day at home on Saturday, and finally went to the Emergency Room at about midnight on the 5th. I infection was so bad, that I was admitted to the hospital at 3am on Sunday the 6th. I was finally discharged yesterday, Thursday the 10th. I'm still sick, but I'm healing, and I no longer need IV antibiotics.
But, on the up-side, I was able to use HBO GO to totally get caught up on Game of Thrones!

AGOT is awesome. The novels, believe it or not, are even better if you can make the time. One of the reasons, I suspect, that the TV series is close to the novels is b/c the author is involved as an exec prod and the main exec prod. love the novels as well.

I have all five books, and I've read the first three. I need to dig into Feast of Crows soon.

There's also three Dunk & Egg novelettes (which are over 120 years before AGOT starts) and the new one in DANGEROUS WOMEN (which cover a Targaryen dynastic struggle and details a bit more on how the Targs control their dragons . . . or do not). That is known as THE PRINCESS AND THE QUEEN.

If it hasn't been said yet, my wife and I just finished the third season of AMC's Hell on Wheels, and we love it. It's rare for her to binge a tv show, but we did about 8 hours of that last weekend.
