Nice find! Must work up some stats when 7e comes out, since there are some interesting rules surrounding groups. There are also lots of academics studying cult behavior, and the FBI and other security agencies have cult investigation departments. All would be great campaign frames.

No one has responded to this. I haven't read "Sisters of Sorrow", but Our Ladies of Sorrow was definitely inspired by the Argento trilogy.Thomas R. Knutsson wrote:Do Sisters of Sorrow and Our Ladies of Sorrow have any connection to Dario Argento's movie triology about the Three Mothers?

Another possible scenario to use for a convention game is the 1984 "The House in the Woods" from Grenadier Models one CoC suppliment "The Horrible Secret of Monhegan Island", it's short, has a high risk of player insanity and there are two hooks in there if the Keeper wants to expand them further.

"If you do good, you'll live forever, if you do bad, you'll die hearing a single note for I am the one true sound...", Fragment found in a cult hideout.
It might be a coincidence that the protagonists of the original Final Fantasy game were known as the Light Warriors, and that they had to recharge Orbs (mayhaps muffin shaped...) in order to defeat Chaos and resolve a paradox in time and space that was being exploited by an otherworldly force. It MIGHT be.
But we know better.

Hi Guys, Storyteller again.
I recently got around to listening to this episode (I've been playing them on "shuffle"). I had some ideas, and unlike my email, I'll try to be brief .
First, the discussion about cults got me to thinking about a scenario I've always liked, Goddess by Michael C. LaBossiere. http://www.yog-sothoth.com/docs/scenario-goddess.pdf In it, a group of Eco-Warriors are tricked into summoning Shub-Niggurath, and the investigators have to stop them.
I don't believe LaBossiere's work is mentioned often enough, it's really good.
Also, Murph specifically had mentioned the idea of a 78 being recorded with a summoning ritual on it, and something similar happens in Thieves Like Us, which was a great scenario I found online many years ago, and I cannot seem to locate the author. Apparently, it was one of the entries in the January 2000 Call of Cthulhu Adventure Writing Contest. If anyone has proper credit on it, let me know.
Well, that's all I can think of at the moment. Let me know if any of this is helpful or sparks your inspirations.
Until next time, stay safe!
