Book III, p. 17, under DAY: THE BLACK CANALS. There is a reference, "(See "The Doll Makers.")". This reference seems superfluous as there is no information about the black canals under the section "The Doll Makers".

Book III, p.20, under MORNING: VENICE IN FEAR: "From somewhere, the investigators cannot see where, echo the stamp of boots on wet stone" should be "From somewhere, the investigators cannot see where, echoes the stamp of boots on wet stone."

Further down, "The manager of the hotel searches out the investigators and forcefully suggests they stay inside, or leave the city all together" should be "The manager of the hotel searches out the investigators and forcefully suggests they stay inside, or leave the city altogether."

Below that, "When the tidal flooding eases San Marco's fills to overflowing at midday Mass" would be improved by putting a comma in between 'eases' and 'San': "When the tidal flooding eases, San Marco's fills to overflowing at midday Mass."

Book III, p. 22, Venice Handout #2: "Returned home last night, the 14th , most satisfied with my actions in dispelling the riot." There is an extra space after '14th'.

Book III, p. 28, under THE DOLL WORKS: "The factory consists of the foyer, Antonio's office, a large clerical room, work rooms, a warehouse, a court-yard, the watchman's room and a storage room." 'Court-yard' should be 'courtyard'.

Under THE FOYER, "The foyer is small and cozy thanks to well-stocked pot-belly stove" should be "The foyer is small and cozy thanks to a well-stocked pot-belly stove."

Book III, p. 30, under SEBASTIANO'S STORY: "During this time, interested investigators can learn Sebastiano's story (see below)" should be "... (see above)."

Book III, p. 32, under THE FOOTPRINT REVEALED: "This may have taken some days to discover; continue to refer to the "Events in Venice" section in as they close in on their prize" has one 'in' too many. Should be "... continue to refer to the "Events in Venice" section as they close in on their prize."

Book III, p. 46, extract from The Devil's Simulare. This is all in past tense, except for the last four lines that are suddenly in the present tense. These last four lines should read: "But in his iniquity the Turk had voiced a curse upon the European leaders of the Crusade that within a few years came about and Emperor Baldwin was soon captured, tortured and killed by the Bulgars who also beheaded Boniface, the other leader of the Crusade. The Venetian Doge also died soon after, his body remaining in Constantinople. Within a few years even the Pope had died. Even the Latin Empire itself fell to the Greeks in 1261."

Book III, p. 48: "trying to appease Crusaders..." should be "trying to appease the Crusaders..."

Under HAGIA SOPHIA, "It is a striking dome building..." should be "It is a striking domed building..."
