This website just caught my eye:
Badass of the week
If you're running a pulp game and what to introduce some historic NPCs based on real people (or do some name dropping for fleshing out your game's setting), this site introduces many real people who did incredibly badass things.
Some badasses include:
Leona Woods, the only woman involved in the Manhatten Project.
Edith Garrud, 1910s jujitsu expert, fighting for the Women's Suffrage Movement in England.
Bob Crisp. Professional cricket player who smoked Nazis with a tank.
If nothing else, this is a great resource for getting a different perspective on history.
Need to pepper your pulp game with some badasses?
