Well, I have now attended my first GenCon, and lived the tell the tale.
Hold Crap...
That was simply staggering in its scale and awesomeness. I met a lot of people, and saw an unbelievable amount to cool stuff. I took many pictures, and once I get a gallery set up on the site, I'll share them with you all.
I did fail at one of my main tasks. I didn't get any audio recorded. I had the Zoom with me, but I just couldn't work up the nerve to ask people. The interviews for the podcast are different, as the people coming on already know they're being interviewed, and have time to mull over their thoughts first. At a con, I'm just there asking them to be spontaneously talk into the gizmo that looks like a fancy tazer.
I think the reports I'll give in the show will make up for my suckage as a journalist, though. I even have a short video to share of the 15 foot tall Cthulhu that was in the main hallway outside the dealer's hall.

I had a good time as well. Not much Cthulhu my way. I did stop at the Pelgraine & Chaosium booths. I didn't want to bother Sandy so I just snapped this pick.
Here's some(not much) other Cthulhu related pics from my end.

I never did meet Ken. I did get to meet Robin though. Really nice guy, as you'd expect.

As someone who has never made the trek yet, any recommendations as a first time goer?

We Canadians have to be nice. We're trying to be inoffensive after 1812.Keeper Dan wrote:I never did meet Ken. I did get to meet Robin though. Really nice guy, as you'd expect.
