A very minor point, barely worth mentioning, but I just realized Tariq had rolled a [4] on Expertise, a [3] on Humanly Possible, and a [3] on Insanity. The result is pretty close anyway and still no Insanity roll triggered, but I had stated that the overall result of the attempt to track Odell was a [3] instead of the [4].

That is all. :|

They are indeed ok. Thanks for asking. The storm threw a wrench in this week's work, but we're otherwise fine. New York and other areas did not do so well.

Sorry I have been slow to post lately. I'll likely update over the weekend if not sooner, but then I'll be out of town all next week and I'm not so sure about my internet access until the 12th, unfortunately.

Very glad to hear that you avoided the worst of the storm, sir. I am a native of, and most of my family still lives in the central New Jersey/eastern Pennsylvania area, so they got hit pretty hard -- but everyone's safe, thank goodness.

We have now completed our relocation to the Midwest, so I'll be jumping back in on "Everest" whenever we're ready to move forward. Thanks for your patience.

Good to have you back, Mike and Tariq -- and thanks for the posts. I've updated the game thread just now, but it seems I might not be able to post much this week if at all, so please be patient and we will try to resume a good pace next week. Sorry for the slow progress folks -- hope you'll all stay with the story. Again, I've been having a really great time with this group of contributors.

Just in case anybody's interested, Dr. Gerard's game has prompted me to pick up "Into the Silence: The Great War, Mallory and the Conquest of Everest" by Wade Davis. About a quarter of the way into it now -- really contextualizes what Everest meant to the British imagination and sense of nationalism. I've learned quite a few things (not all of them salutary) about my character George Finch, too!

Highly recommended thus far.
