"Champo! Champo! Good lord man!" Ansfrid signals to Finch that they need to grab the poor simpleton, and begin to lead him back to the safety of the monastery.

[Ansfrid, I'm afraid you'll need to roll your insanity die now. Finch as well.]

[Ansfrid rolls Insanity Die... rolls 3. To be expected, my Insanity has increased by one.]

Ansfrid's current stats: Insanity: 2, Exhaustion: 1]

The sight of the blood-covered Champo snaps a chord in Ansfrid's mind! A man so injured cannot last long in conditions such as this. Ansfrid has a deep phobia of blood, he can't stand the sight of blood... especially his own. Ansfrid will do everything in his power to try and help Champo without touching the blood. Ansfrid will look away from the blood, and if there is no clean spot for him to grab ahold of Champo, then Ansfrid will do those "come on, come on" hand gestures to try and lead Champo back to safety.

[Finch Insanity Die Roll: 5 http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/3741942/]

The sight of the bloodied monk at first stuns Finch, and then spins him into a towering rage. "Odell!" he howls into the wind. "Odell, God damn you! What the hell have you done?" His fury overriding even his concern for the simpleton monk, Finch lurches out in Odell's direction, the sudden movement threatening to topple Ansfrid even as he tries to reach Champo.

In the confusion, Finch and Ansfrid pull against each other for a moment. Finch’s lunge does pull Ansfrid down into the snow. Champo stumbles desperately toward Ansfrid, plodding along with a wiggly piece of flesh in his mitten, like a big toddler absent mindedly brandishing a raw sausage.

Finch’s pursuit of Odell is immediately cut short as the weight of Ansfrid’s body anchors him in place.

Note to mjmedwick:
[mjmedwick, of you want to keep playing out your rage impulse here, you can quickly untie or cut the rope and bolt out into the night toward the source of the rifleshot. I just want to give you fair warning that once you’re off the tether, you’ll be wandering around blindly even after just a few steps. It's also perfectly plausible that you might snap out of it, so it's entirely up to you.]

The tugging registers down the rope to Trafford and Hingston, an erratic pull like a fish nibbling at the end of a line.

Wangdi looks out toward where Odell disappeared, and notices that, of course, the man left his own unique tracks in the snow.

Karma Paul, who is feeding out rope, seems troubled by the whole scene. He shakes his head at Wangdi, and appears exasperated -- deeply offended at the sound of the rifle shot, which violates the peaceful order of this sacred place.

Note to Tariq:
[Tariq, you have the option to follow that trail if you want to at this point (that will need a roll, Expertise allowed), or you could easily follow the rope out toward Trafford and Hingston, or even get to the end where Ansfrid and Finch are since it's only a few hundred feet. You could also hang tight and wait for the scene to join you back at the rail.]

Finally booted and clothed against the bitter elements Wangdi picks up one end of a rope securing to the harness around his torso. The other end he passes to a fellow Sherpa with instructions to stay put.

Removing his ice pick and electric torch Wangdi sets off after Odell.

[Excellent. Please roll another die for "humanly possible." The way I understand this, you are tying yourself in to a separate rope that is connected to a Sherpa at the rail, yes?]

Finch's attempt to lurch after Odell ends the moment the rope tethering him to Ansfrid pulls taut. The Australian's legs shoot out from under him, spilling him into the thick snow underfoot. He begins clawing at the rope, unable to get any purchase on the knots with thick fingers of his gloves. Then, the red haze of rage begins to recede. For a moment, he lays there breathing hard, looking up into the mesmerizing downrush of snowflakes coming out of the black sky. His mind clears, the realization of their situation once again becoming apparent to him. Giving up the thought of pursuing Odell, Finch struggles laboriously in the snow, trying to regain his feet and make his way towards Ansfrid and Champo.

[I roll 2! Oops. Assuming this isn't enough can I roll on San as well? If so I roll 3... Not much better]

Wangdi struggles with the rope at the rail... But realising time is short he considers simply charging after the vanishing tracks...
