Casting resurrect thread!
I want to do 2 versions, Serious and good times mode, but with fictional characters.
For my serious game,
I thought about Sherlock Holmes, but he would pick it apart, embarrass me with my plot holes and point out how everything could be better. Also probably stingy with tha blow, so he is out.
So Charlie Chan gets his seat, Smart player and would not make me lose face in front of the other players,
Hiro Protagonist the er, main character from Snow Crash Solid dude who could move the game forward, and as long as we are on Snow Crash, I'll take his business partner, Y. T. (Extra bonus Stephenson trivia. She appears in another book, Name it and her character!)
I'm rounding out the serious game with Manuel Garcia "Mannie" O'Kelly-Davis, one of my favorite ever characters from one of my favorite ever books.
The silly game, Basil Fawlty, Mrs. Yellowbeard, Raymond Stantz from Ghostbusters and Father Guido Sarducci!

Hahaha, great picks! While the resurrection spell is still in effect, I will throw out a couple of combos:
High pulp game:
Teddy Roosevelt
Mata Hari
Harry Houdini
Madame Blavatsky
Dark Lovecraftian:
Henry Miller
Mary Shelley
Charles Dickens
Sylvia Plath

Keeper of the Cthulhu Dark "Secret Everest Expedition" PbP scenario
Rip Wheeler in the Call of Cthulhu "No Man's Land" scenario
Plays for Keepers

Jon Stewart (I'd take John Oliver too..)
Richard Dawkins
Scott Ian
Robert Oppenheimer
Erwin Rommel
I think that's a good mix of science, comedy, art, and strategy.
Lets go for a good long pulp campaign.. many sessions.. Not sure what that would be but it would be interesting over time..

I'd want to surround myself with people I think would enjoy the experience and who I look up to and admire.
Nick Offerman, because he plays the game and is a great improvisor. And he could build us a really kickin gaming table to play on.
Steven Spielberg as a player because I know he used to play D&D, has a very in depth understanding and love of pulp, and is a fantastic storyteller.
Vin Diesel because he has such a jovial love of gaming.
Guillermo Del Toro as the Keeper, because whatever horrors he crafted would be glorious
And my friend Natalie who is the most insanely great roleplayer I've encountered.
