I recently bought the pdf and a hard copy of the 60 Stone Press version of kitties in the Lovecraftian universe.
I got to run it last weekend and it was a blast. It was just weird enough to shake things up and who wouldn't jump at an opportunity to go kitty.
One of my players flat out does not play any horror game of any kind, but he was willing to give Cathulhu a try. He's a cat fancier which is why.
My girlfriend still questions my manhood, but what does she know.
My scenario was actually pretty damn good and I am going to try writing up for 60 Stone, who I think are taking submissions.
Here's a few things I/we discovered about the game.
-It will be a big hit at any gaming convention.
-It will get people who never played a Lovecraftian game to play one.
-It will probably attract female gamers more so than standard macho fare.
-Playing the Cats soundtrack was a non-starter...my friend who owns it flat out refused to play it for my cruel enjoyment.
-My players refused to Cat Larp and chase tin foil balls, laser pointer dots and string
Anyway, has anyone else run or play Cathulhu?

If religion were true, its followers would not try to bludgeon their young into an artificial conformity; but would merely insist on their unbending quest for truth, irrespective of artificial backgrounds or practical consequences.

I was a proofreader for them on that PDF. I have the basic copy but believe I am owed the updated one assuming any revisions were made. I came in at the very end to help and it looked pretty complete. I'm keen to run it at some point. Glad others are, too.

I'm very curious about this system.
Pun intended, but it's also true.

The system is Cthulhu BRP-lite with 'tricks' which each cat gets two at the start.
Tricks are a nice addition. For instance 'I Was Always Up There' which allows your cat to get to any high spot possible as long as nobody is watching or 'Doolittle' which allows you to speak to one other type of animal...stuff like that.

Sounds like fun. Are the tricks from a set list, or improvised by players during character creation?

I can't not think about leotards... leotards... leotards

There's a set list. Some tricks have prerequisite tricks.Dr. Gerard wrote:Sounds like fun. Are the tricks from a set list, or improvised by players during character creation?
Standard short hairs get to pick two. Specific cat breeds come with one trick as a perk and then can choose a second.
