I absolutely second the Quake and Diablo soundtracks! As well as anything by Russian Circles and Pelican.
Anyone interested in Russian Circles or Isis will enjoy their sideproject supergroup SUMAC

Nice recommendations. I just picked up a few ambient items for my ear holes. Hadn't thought about Quake or Diablo before.
