So someone earlier mentioned The Doctor. Got a question for y'all. I've never watched Doctor Who, although I'm very intrigued. However, where do I start?

Either right at the beginning with the First Doctor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Doctor / http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-Begi ... 622&sr=8-1
or
With the new 2005 series, which is more modern take and might be easier to get into: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ninth_Doctor / http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-The- ... 56&sr=8-21

My personal favorite however is the Sixth Doctor: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixth_Doctor / http://www.amazon.co.uk/Doctor-Who-Twin ... 068&sr=1-1
I used to watch him when I was a kid and while the 2005-> series is good, to me this is The Doctor.

The good thing is, you can pretty much start watching at any point, as long as it's a the beginning of the story. He is a time traveller after all, things happen in weird sequence anyway, something which is studied at least in the 2005 -> series.

Another thing you should think about checking is Torchwood, it's a spin off from the 2005 Doctor Who and some of the best sci-fi on TV. In fact I prefer it over the new Doctor and the horrible crap they make now like Continuum (man that show sucks so bad).

I would start at the Christopher Eccleston season. This is where they brought the series back, and was written to be accessible to new viewers.
The DVD boxes call it "Series 1", even though it's really season 33 of the show.

After you're comfy with the premise of the show through the current stuff, then grab some episodes of the classic seasons. Image

Absolutely. My wife made me an original one from this site. I wear it out in the winter, and it's wonderfully warm. :ugeek:

Yeah, he's one of my favorites too. Seen a lot of his stuff as re-runs back in the day.

I also recently got hooked on Pawn Stars, I think it should be mandatory watching for anyone wishing to be a GM. A lot of small history things in that show, I find it kinda interesting and sometimes end up researching something a lot further.

Has anyone here ever watched the anime called "Rin" on Netflix? Definitely worth checking out for a quick dose of beautifully strange fiction.
