That sounds good to me. I'm sure getting Stafford on the show is going to be a priority in the episodes ahead. He wrote up a history for RPG.net some years ago that included some honest talk of mistakes and "dark times," so I think he'd give us more than a sanitised perspective.

Do you know where on RPG.net that essay can be found? Linky?

I wish nothing but the best to both the new and outgoing teams at Chaosium!

I was wrong about the author. Greg didn't write it, Shannon Appelcline did. Greg only looked it over for corrections and comments, it seems.

Still a good read, and includes some of the warts prior to its publication in 2006.

I also recommend his Designer and Dragons history of RPG gaming as a whole.

I second this recommendation. I picked up the four volume set of ebooks when they were part of a Bundle of Holding offer. I'm about half way through volume 2 and I've learnt so much about the history of our hobby. Chaosium is covered in volume 1.

These frequent crowdfunding updates by the new (and old) regime at Chaosium are welcome.

But just the same it's disheartening reading, especially concerning the status of 7E.

I third this, I got a hardcover copy of the book and it's excellent, even reading about the companies I've never had any interest in, was fun. Really well written and researched (AFAIK), kudos to the author (even if RPG.net is the cesspool of RPGers).

As for the news, I see it as good and maybe I'll even get my Kickstarter stuff at some point, tho I will consider it a nice surprise at this point. I haven't lost hope, but I don't really worry about money I might or might not have lost on these.
