I'll do ya one better. A wav of the opening without any voices. This has the music, sound effects and everything in place. :cthulhu1:
Just a right-click and save gets you the file: MU_Podcast_Intro_No_Voices.wav

I would love to hear our intro in different languages, and I'll totally play them on the show!

Aaaand it's done!

A few things to mention:

* This is based off the first version of the intro. I am going to be working on the current intro soon, but I do need some additional sound sources (like the switching sounds, the howling, and the Shoggoths) in order to build it up.

* This was built from the ground up using the sound effects in the Resources page using Audacity. Dan, thanks for sending me that clip: it helped me figure out what sounds to use to finish it. The reason I didn't use the clip as is was due to the fact the speaking time for Japanese is different from English, so it wouldn't have worked.

* My Japanese isn't perfect, so if there are any fluent Japanese-speaking listeners out there, please forgive me!

I have included both a .wav and MP3. Let me know what you think, and if you have any issues or suggestions please let me know!

And if you want to follow along, I will include the Japanese and translation below:

より高度な知識を学ぶ場所。
暗い廊下の中、 何世紀もの秘密が眠っている。
宇宙の神秘を学ぶために、この地にたどり着いた。
ミスカトニック大学ポッドキャストへようこそ。

Yori koudo na chishiki wo manabu basho.
Kurai rouka no naka, nanseikimo no himitsu ga nemutteiru.
Uchuu no shinpi wo manabu tameni, kono chi ni tadori tsuita.
Misukatonikku daigaku poddokyasuto he youkoso.

It is a place for higher learning.
In dark halls, centuries of secrets sleep.
In order to learn the mysteries of the universe, you have finally arrived.
Welcome to the Miskatonic University Podcast.

Now, let's bring some other languages into the mix!

That is fantastic! I love how sinister you make the last word sound..."you-ko-so!"

Sweet! :cthulhudance: :yay:
This is so cool! Thank you for putting this together. I'm really digging how ominous it sounds. I'd love to hear others if we have more folks with language skills.
I just know English (or what passes for it in the US), about 6 words of Mandarin I picked up from Firefly, and a couple phrases of Klingon. :ugeek:

Keeper Chad officially challenges Keeper Dan to read the intro in Klingon. Boom. Gauntlet thrown.

YES! This must be done!

Thanks everyone! I'm ecstatic that you guys enjoyed it! Getting the voice right was an interesting adventure, and I am keen to do more of this stuff!

I'd like to work on a Latin translation. I think that would be really cool.
