Visionary animator Ray Harryhausen has passed away at the age of 92. As a tribute, let's talk about all his awesome stuff!

Just off of the top of my head, I'd say the nautillus sea creature Mysterious Island.

Mine would have to be the Minotaur and Troglodyte from Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger.

You know, my actual favorite has to be the skeletons. But since that seems somehow pedestrian, I present:

SNAKE WOMAN!

I have to say Calibos is my favorite. He's not just a monster, but also a dynamic villain. Not to mention his transformation scene was brilliant!

Mighty Joe Young was probably the first of his I seen as a kid. They used to play that flick at Thanksgiving every year. The Sinbad movies and of course Clash of the Titans were big childhood favs.

Skeletons from Jason and the Argonauts. Started me down a life long obsession with undead, which led to my gaming career.

I think the skeletons are a pretty universal introductory stop-motion creature. I loved that scene, and if anyone ever mentions Harryhausen or skeletons in casual conversation my mind will immediately jump to those images.

I'm surprised there's not been any love for the giant octopus from It Came From Beneath the Sea! Tentacles everywhere!

Eww this is tough.

How about my top 4.

Medusa from Clash of the Titans...the hissing, the bow twangs, the death.

Kali from the Golden Voyage of Sinbad.

Ymir from 20 Million Miles to Earth

and of course

The Cyclops

Yep, she would be mine.
