Re: How do you handle difficult players?
I've never had to ask a player to leave a game, but I've been close on a couple of occasions. When I run con games, I keep a $20 bill in my pocket as insurance. If I KNOW that a player is going to ruin the game for the other players, he gets the money as compensation for his ticket, and he'll need t...

Re: What Stories Scared You As a Kid?
When I was a young lad, my folks let me watch "Kolchak: The Nightstalker" and re-runs of "Night Gallery" and "The Outer Limits". All of that stuff sort of freaked me out then, and I I can remember many sleepless nights that resulted. Naturally, this is all stuff that I try to mine as best I can now!

Re: What are you looking forward to at Gen Con?
I gotta say, my typical Gencon mojo has been broken, probably for the better, this year, so this will be a bit of a different Gencon for me. (I've not the last 8, (or 9?) years?) Our typically friends signing up for the same events was a fail this year, so I'm kinda solo'ing this one - I'm making i...

Re: MU Alumni Dinner
ALERT! TIME CHANGE FOR DINNER! Hey guys, due to my booth work hours for Goodman Games, we will meet for dinner at The Ram at 5pm instead of 4pm, as previously planned. DINNER AT 5PM. Fair warning: the wait at The Ram at 5pm on Gen Con Thursday is almost certainly going to be considerable.

Re: Horrors of War Kickstarter
I don't understand the opposition to PDF products. It's not as if it's an untried concept.Shannon Mac wrote:That's going to hurt them and likely shall lose my support as well. Thanks for the clarity, though.

I'm always on the lookout for rare, out of print stuff at the Gen Con Auction, and of course I'll be picking up my copy of Starfall in the Dealers Hall. More importantly, though, I'm most looking forward to meeting the hosts of the Miskatonic University Podcast!

Re: Tales of the Crescent City
I have to concur completely! In a sector of the RPG industry where customer service and communication are often woefully poor and delays are the rule rather than the exception, GG really shines. Other publishing houses should take notice of their methods!

Re: Kicking off a new game
I'm going to revisit the scenarios from 6E. I played Dockside Dogs at Gary Con this March and thought it was outstanding. It'd probably be a good fit for our group, too. Thanks for the insight. It's been so long since I've initiated a new player that I'd sort of lost track of what was out there!

Kicking off a new game
Here's one that's come up before in one form or another. My group is getting around to starting CoC again, after a long hiatus. Some of the regular players know and enjoy the game, but one in particular has no experience with Lovecraft, the game or the BRP system in general (he has played RPGs for y...
