Re: How do you handle difficult players?
One of my friends is a difficult player. He argues that he didn't mean an action when it goes wrong or whines when something doesn't go his way (recently he complained in our world war Cthulhu scenario when his character was infiltrating in a stolen uniform that he didn't have a grenade, despite me ...

Re: MU fraternities/sororities?
Oh the possibilities!
Hazing in particular! The trials are to find a chosen one. Even chapter houses, a fraternity or sorority that has been tasked with guarding a portal or ancient secret. Hmmm sounds like fun!

Re: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction
Hmmm some interesting thoughts! To my mind the rat-men are territorial. It's the invasion of territory that caused them to react violently. The fact that they went on to take one of their own off their land and then kill him was the last straw. One of them was seen when they escaped from the Spirit ...

Re: Basing scenarios off of Lovecraft stories
There's a scenario book called House of R'Lyeh that's all sequals to Lovecraft stories. We did Return of The Hound. It was fun but my players thought it went on too long, they got bogged down in Amsterdam.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction
So just ran another of my daft scenarios : http://www.yog-sothoth.com/blog/423/entry-2640-episode-3-id-get-rid-of-my-demons-but-id-lose-my-angels/ My investigators decided to execute a rat-man, just because. They then got thrown out of Manhattan soon after so managed to escape Scott free. I've been ...

Re: Help a New Player/Keeper
First of all welcome! Second it can feel really daunting when you first approach rpg-ing. My advice is to listen to some of the live-play podcasts like the Mu podcast ones and the Skype of Cthulhu. It'll help you get a hang on how dice rolls work and when to use them. I read through source books and...

Re: What do Keepers owe their players and vice versa?
Just for my 10 cents: I think Keepers have to provide as best an experience as they can by preparing their material, support new players, tell a story with their players not as an adversary, take the time to learn what their players want and to be willing to laugh when their plans go off track (occa...

Re: Kid comics?
For some good indie comics/graphic novels, the Amelia Rules series was really cool http://www.amazon.com/Whole-Worlds-Crazy-Amelia-Rules/dp/1416986049/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396275729&sr=8-1&keywords=Amelia+Rules and then any of the graphic novels by Regina Telgemeier are wonderfully written little...

Re: What do you think?
From a story point of view that's a lot of fun to play with, its the sort of thing you can drop little seeds in for ages before paying it off. I've started giving my players emails with little sub-missions to make things more interesting and for one of them its to set him on the wrong path as his ch...
