Re: Episode 71 - Horror Gaming in the Modern Day
The only example I can think of is from one of our Leverage Horror games. The Hacker retroactively decided that he's installed an 'ultrasonic scrambler app' pn the Thief's phone, allowing her to interfere with vampire echolocation ('cos we all know that vampires have echolocation, right?). Then, Lev...

What's the most clever use of modern tech you've seen in a game (whether by players or the keeper)?

Re: Episode 71 - Horror Gaming in the Modern Day
Great episode. :) An anecdote: I've only called the police once in my life. It was 4 in the morning, and there was some commotion going on in the apartment under mine, and it sounded like the most hackneyed "loanshark/bookie/gangster wants his money back" scene you could imagine. When they arrived t...

"How would you like to be plugged in the breadbasket?"
When you play or run games in other time periods, do you try to stay with in the idiom of the day? Do you do anything to research or just attempt expressions and speech patterns that are in keeping with the roaring 20s (for instance)? Personally I would like to, but usually don't. I find that it mak...

Re: Episode 70 - The Colour Out of Space (part 2)
Great episode! You really do get a lot of bang for your buck with every new installment. I like the idea of a Sound Out Of Space. Put it in a city environment (say a dilapidated apartment building or tower block full of dilapidated artists) and you have The Hum Of Erich Zann. There might be a whole ...

Re: Episode 69 - The Colour Out of Space (part 1)
I quite like the idea that Graham Walmsley puts forth in Stealing Cthulhu, that you can substitute a lloigor for the colo(u)r, and use the story as a scenario almost unchanged. Then, a lloigor is significantly less alien, since it wants things and communicates those wishes to humans.

It's like Marc Maron says, there's nothing illegal on my hard drive, but there's a lot that's hard to explain.

Re: Episode 68 - Nightbreed and Lord of Illusions
I definitely gotta watch Lord of Illusions again. I hardly remembered any of of it when you discussed it. Nightbreed on the other hand I've seen many times back in the 90s. It's a (flawed) favorite. https://ilgiornodeglizombi.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/nightbreed-still-10_843c969a-7f4a-e411-88c5-d4...
