Re: Share your favorite other podcasts
I had a lot of fun with Close the Airlock! (Traveller), although there was a shift from muddling along to High-Fi drama towards the end with power escalation and stuff that wasn't as much to my taste. Jennisodes is off the air, possibly permanently due to baby, but I'm still enjoying grabbing stuff ...

Re: MUP Intro translation project
It's actually a (very much lapsed) family language - my name's stereotypically Manx. Coming from the Welsh borders and being a Celtic family, I got interested in Welsh and started teaching myself that. My grandmother later passed me a Manx book that had belonged to my grandfather, and it sort of spi...

Re: MU Podcast 060 - Manuscript of Secrets and Shadowed Hall
One thought I've had is how to use Miskatonic University in a modern setting. Rather than making it still an Ivy League-quality school, I like to think that it fell on hard times after a series of disasters and misadventures in the 1920's. ... Still, the library is very well maintained ... The resu...

Obi, for what it's worth, this is one of those games you can actually run without anything other than a d10, pencil and scrap paper. The quick start guide is highly recommended, but if you have at least a rough idea what the rules are you can kind of make it up as you go along. You kinda need some s...

That's awesome! I hope it works out for you. For what it's worth, recording via Ventrilo is easy, so if you do want to record stuff you could use that instead of/as well as Hangouts. I do meatspace recordings with a handheld cheapish (£70) recorder just sat on the table and it works out pretty well ...

Re: So... Anyone have good job leads?
Believe me, you have all my sympathy. Last time I was applying for jobs, half of them never got back to me at all. Companies can be so insensitive about this stuff, it's like none of them have ever been on the receiving end. Presumably HR is staffed by mi-go in flayed human masks.* I have that to lo...

Re: MUP Intro translation project
I should probably break the incredible tension surrounding this: It's Manx, my language of choice. Hastur was 99% of the way there. I actually have a side-project of Lovecraft translations into the fair tongue, so if you need an unintelligable language to throw at players (might be a fun bet for Gas...

Re: So... Anyone have good job leads?
Good ideas Shimmin, thank you. I'll look into libraries. I hadn't done that as I thought you had to have a special kind of degree for that kind of work. It varies massively. I've worked in libraries (in junior roles) for seven years without a library masters or the intention to get it, and a defini...
