Re: Miskatonic University Podcast 14- Sandbox or Published?
In regards to sand boxing vs. per-written stuff, I think a game master for any game needs to be somewhat prepared for things to go off the rails at any time. But I'm going to try to take to heart the notion that each investigative scene needs one clue that will be provided without a roll. (Provided...

Re: Miskatonic University Podcast 14- Sandbox or Published?
I wanted to thank you guys - I think this is the relevant episode - for mentioning the various Actual Plays of Masks of Nyarlathotep. I was considering trying to start in on this campaign. Considering I've run precisely one scenario, though, I'm thinking it'll be better to listen to these first and ...

Re: Looking for Delta Green players, Infrno/Skype
Alright, I've rolled up Arthur McMillan, an IT Analyst from the DOD. He's not much of a field agent, though. This is likely to be be his first time in the field. Let me know if I've screwed something up, as he's the first character I've actually rolled up by hand for myself.

Re: MUP Sponsored Live Play
I'd love to be a part of this, but I'm unsure of my own ability to stay up late enough. I'm not as young as I used to be, and I'm an East Coaster to boot.

Re: Looking for Delta Green players, Infrno/Skype
Are there any special rules/methods we should take when rolling up a character? I saw you specified 6e, which is a relief because that's the core rulesbook I have. I'm about to buy the DG pdf off of Drivethru RPG, and I'm planning to roll up a character today. My preference would be towards a purist...

Hey Jovial1! No previous experience needed. I'd love it if you'd join the cell. I think Last Things Last would be a great intro for you. I'll contact all possible players privately now for further details. Sounds good! I'll probably pick up DG this week, and start brainstorming character ideas, etc.

Re: First-Time Keeper
Well, that was a learning experience. The game quickly became much more pulpy than I expected, but I did my best to roll with it. I wound up going with Dead Man Stomp at the last minute. I was ready to run Edge of Darkness, but my wife - who had talked about playing a psychologist - ultimately chose...

Re: Looking for Delta Green players, Infrno/Skype
I might be interested - though I haven't ever played before in any type of game. DG is on my list of books to purchase.

Re: First-Time Keeper
Those things you point out are what makes me really like Edge of Darkness. The PCs don't have to know each other as they're called together by the guy they all know. During character creation, just have a stipulation that each player determine how they know this one guys. Tell them what he's done i...

Re: First-Time Keeper
I'm going a little back and forth between using a couple of the scenarios in the core rulebook. I'm thinking of either The Haunting, or Dead Man Stomp. The Haunting has a bunch of the classic touches I think of when I consider Lovecraft's stories - a dead sorcerer, someone driven mad, and a mythos t...
