Re: MU Podcast 061- Dark Times on the Road to Leng
Glad to hear Dark Ages getting some love. I have to wonder if perhaps at least some of the lack of support from Chaosium was due to poor timing, with the CDA core book coming out during a time when Chaosium was in somewhat dire financial straits. At any rate, hopefully we'll see that 7e-friendly exp...

Re: MU Podcast 053 - Fudging, Flubbing, and Failing
One of my groups plays WFRP & HackMaster. Both systems have Fate/Fortune points which you can use like "Wishes" to change rolls or outcomes of rolls. Many other/new systems have this mechanic, "Bennie/Luck/Chip" points are all mechanics to divert the need to fudge. Their like having a "Ring of Wish...

Re: MU Podcast 053 - Fudging, Flubbing, and Failing
This is one of those episodes where I keep wanting to jump into the conversation! So even though I'm not totally done listening, I just want to offer my $0.02 on what I've heard so far. I totally get where Chad is coming from, because I had a similar experience in terms of going from fudging my roll...

Re: No Man's Land Actual Play
After listening to it there were a few spots that it seemed the clues could be laid out a little better just on those rare chances of the total party missing some crucial roll but aside from that it was a delight to hear this as the plucky troops are worn down to the point of thinking way outside t...

Couple new actual plays
Here are a couple other CoC one-shots I've run over the winter. First, an Atomic Age one-shot: http://esoteric-rp.blogspot.com/2013/11/call-of-cthulhu-atomic-age-high-octane.html And then a run-through of one of my all-time favorite scenarios, "Crack'd and Crook'd Manse": http://esoteric-rp.blogspot...

No Man's Land Actual Play
Hi all! Inspired by Keeper Murph's outing, I decided to run "No Man's Land" again. I first ran it when it came out in 1998 and had a TPK about two-thirds of the way through. This time we had a whopping seven players at the table, and I made an effort to pull out all the stops as suggested in the sce...

Re: MU Podcast 039 - San-Restoring Sea Voyages
Well done, as always! I just thought I'd chime in, as I'm a big fan of using downtime between sessions. Anytime I run a campaign, I set up an Obsidian Portal site for it. I then use the forums to facilitate conversation between myself and the players. I might post some images of general or specific ...
