Re: Gilding the Haunting

I've run it as part of my 1940s World War Cthulhu campaign. The protagonist, Kurtis Von Smitt, is obsessed with games, competition and the Tick Tock Man. As part of an ancient ritual to anoint 4 bringers of chaos, he sets up a children's home. He sets up one Dr. Walter Corbitt to run the facility wh...

I was properly laughing out loud at points in the story! Very well done by DM and PCs!

Re: So here is a question.

For me I tend to work it out as a timeline, do certain events need to happen at certain times? I also use post-its as tabs so I can find scenes or characters easily. If there is large fight scenes or a large number of NPCs in a scene, I write out their stats and their belongings again with a cross-r...

Re: 237 - Horror on the Orient Express: Death (and Love) in

Yeah I think it just doesn't have a strong enough hook. If my current group is anything to go by I reckon altruism is a much forgotten thing, one PC who is playing a member of the clergy (himself training to be a member of the clergy!) had to be convinced by other players to save a small child who w...

The second playthru I've listened to and the second time that the group have decided not to help out the young couple. They just seem destined to die!

Re: MU Podcast 070 - I love the smell of Mythos in the morni

Really enjoyed this discussion! My system of choice for my current group is World War Cthulhu so it was great to have it all brought up and discussed. Massively looking forward to the "Home fires" book and the World War Cthulhu: Cold War source book. Did anyone else catch the documentary on More 4 l...

Really enjoying this run through, I loved the Paul of Cthulhu one and was worried that I'd heard it all before but its amazing how a different group changes things up! Kudos!

Re: Five destructive myths perpetuating RPGs

An interesting article and I will admit to having committed some of these while writing my role-playing games however I think it does suffer from generalizing to a greater degree all of RPG experience. 1. The Great Man theory- Any roleplay that is set in history will take in considerations such as m...
