Re: MUP 135 - Talking Monsters with Monster Talk
I like a lot of the concepts discussed in this episode. I’ve been mulling over a scenario for a while now where a “Monster Hunter” TV film crew go looking for the Loveland Frog, which in mythos fashion, turns out to be a Nagaae.

Re: MUP 134 - Nerdgasms & Mythosy Pulp Gizmos
Haven’t quite finished listening to the episode yet, but I just wanted to quickly mention the GLOO Cannon from the video game Prey in regards to the Glob Stick. it’s also very much inspired by The Incredibles. Really love all these ideas, but the one I really gravitated to was the domesticated Chtho...

Re: MUP 133 - Pulp Magic, Psychics, and SCIENCE!
Just wanted to say that I love the whole weird science ( or SCIENCE! ) thing too. The way Nicola Tesla gets used in pop culture is kind of in this vein. Also, for a more modern example, Rick from Rick and Morty. Though from the examples of what they can do with it in-game, I'm also reminded of this ...

Re: MUP 128 - Talents and Trevlix
As fun as an actual puzzle is, my concern with using them is that it takes the skill away from the character and puts it onto the player. For instance, your character may have an INT of 40 and yet because you as a player can solve the puzzle, they then survive. Unless it was previously explained tha...

Re: MUP 128 - Talents and Trevlix
You guys mentioned some sample pages of Jon's scenario, but I can't seem to see the link in the show notes. Could you possibly direct me to their location?

Re: MUP 125 - Maximum Sanity
One other off-handed comment I was mulling over today was that a creature with 200 SIZ is twice as big as a human. I don't think such a scale works, however, or it would mean Cthulhu is only 10x the size of a human, which just doesn't work at all.

Re: MUP 125 - Maximum Sanity
In regards to inciting incidents, there's ultimately only two—internal and external. Either the character chooses to seek out the adventure, or the adventure comes to them. Or in your terms, investigation vs happenstance. If you think about it that way, even "inheritance" is a happenstance hook beca...

Re: MUP 125 - Maximum Sanity
I actually have an anecdote which parallels this episode pretty well. When I was about 16-ish we went to the Great Barrier Reef. We were snorkelling in this area that was maybe 3m deep—that's 10ft for you guys ;)—and I was all relaxed, enjoying looking at all the colourful, pretty fish and corals. A...

Re: MUP 124 - Sanecdodes: It's a Mad World After All
We chatted about that before we started recording, so yes that was also an issue on the table. We just pushed through because of a full plate. If you have examples, please post here. I know I have run across some strange apparent glitches before. Just taking a quick look through the 7e rulebook, it...

Re: MUP 124 - Sanecdodes: It's a Mad World After All
When a gripe was mentioned about the written san hits, I thought it was going to be the same one I have, which is that some monsters that seem horrific and truly alien have lower stats than others that seem less so. My guess is that most of the creatures were probably created independently and the S...
