Re: Kickstarter Proof Reviews Here

On page 58 of the Keeper's Rulebook, under the failed push examples, the last sentence has a period instead of a comma ("the critics slate your work. and no one desires your services any longer.")

Re: The MU Podcast IndieGogo Campaign is LIVE!

Yes! I was just wondering why you were doing D6s instead of D10s. Looking forward to seeing those designs.

I've given you a little from my unfortunately post-college reserves, but I'm glad to chip in. We wouldn't want anything to happen to Dan's computer :p

Re: Basing scenarios off of Lovecraft stories

I've been working on a two-part scenario that's basically a modern version of the "Whisperer in Darkness," though heavily mixed with elements of the Blair Witch Project , and it's been going over quite well playtesting with my friends. Now, I'll admit that many of them haven't read Lovecraft, but ev...

Re: MU Podcast 053 - Fudging, Flubbing, and Failing

I think another important thing to consider when fudging rolls is the group you're in. Obviously some people prefer a more "GM=God" approach, allowing the GM to manipulate the story and mechanics to create the most fun experience and story for the players, while others prefer to stick with the game ...

Re: MU Podcast 048 - The Con in Yellow

In regards to the King in Yellow aspects of the podcast (another great podcast guys!), I was wondering if anyone had read/checked out the Thom Ryng King in Yellow recreation. I'm checking it out to see if it's worth having on hand as a prop (or just for a good read), since the "Yellow Mythos" is rea...

Good Delta Green Scenarios?

For a long time I've been on and off the fence about Delta Green, as while I prefer modern Cthulhu to other eras, the whole conspiracy-aspect of the game doesn't appeal to me (it does feel very '90s, though). However, at the end of the day I figure there's no reason I can't cut the parts I don't lik...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Welcome aboard Dav! Glad to see some younger guys popping in! You're welcome to use the Tales of Mystery to find a local group, what city are you in? Outside Boston area. Some of my friends from college are around here, but at the moment none of us are free for regular sessions (though that's defin...

Re: Introduce Yourself

I've actually been lurking & listening to the podcast now for months, but I figured I ought to pipe up & introduce myself. I'm Dav Flamerock, a recent college grad who's been into Lovecraft for years. I was running Cthulhu RPG scenarios before I knew there even was a Cthulhu RPG (I just used a D&D r...

Re: Modern setting books for Call Of Cthulhu

I'd argue DG's enduring popularity is mostly because of its first-rate writing, which is backed up with impeccable research to infuse the modern era with Mythos-y goodness whilst hitting on many great modern tropes - conspiracy, UFOs, alienation - along with the aforementioned fewer hurdles to imme...

Re: Modern setting books for Call Of Cthulhu

I'm also very interested in writing modern-day Cthulhu (as I find the more relatable I can make it the more unsettling I can make it), but I've read fairly negative reviews of Arkham Now universally—does anyone here have experience with the book? Is it as bad as I was reading on BGG & YSDC? Also, I ...
